Is Hallowe'en in January?

Egging. Egging is a juvenile ritual performed on Hallowe'en night. Am I Right? Well then answer me this, why did our house get egged, not once, but twice last night? Hahahaha. Okay now that we all are done laughing does anyone have an answer? Poor Mel and Mo. Their house was egged. I don't know what else to write. I'm speechless. The whole thing is strange. I wish I was home in my somewhat small town, where everything and everyone act somewhat normal, or at least stick to the calendar. Jeepers.

I would like you to meet Anderson Cooper...

This is Anderson Cooper. Reasons why I'm writing this post: He was on Oprah this afternoon and on my mind. He is intriguing. He is darn good-looking. He deserves to be recognized for his intelligence and reporters' savvy. He is the reason why I watch CNN! The life of a reporter: Travel. Danger. Story. Truth. Engaged. Triumph. Expose.

Last stupid Kelly comment: I wish he was my neighbour.

(I had more to say, but I deleted it by accident and can't be bothered to type it all out again, besides I can't remember what I said)

did you see it?

Oh man. I cried all the way through the second half of "Grey's Anatomy" tonight. I know it's stupid to get so into tv shows, but I can't help it. This show is good, really good. What can I say, I'm a crier...and proud of it. I get it from my mom. She cries during a slightly sad commercial. I await the day when I realize that I have turned into her completely...it's inevitable. I already see the effect she has had on my two older sisters. We will all adopt her idiosyncrasies and there is no way to avoid it. Ah well I like my mother, she would be a good person to become.

Okay so back to the McDreamy show ("grey's anatomy"). If you haven't seen it before I strongly advise you to. At least once. And let me see you try not to get attached to the characters. Ha! Wow the weekend sure went by fast. LAST week of classes...daunting!!!

Being an auntie is great! I am an auntie of three, so far. Three of the cutest kids in the world, and I'm not being biased, look at them, just look at them. They're cute! I'm a little obsessed with them (aren't I Shar?). They are my source of joy. If I was asked to define the word happiness, it would simply be: Brielle, Hayden and Micah. That's probably why no one has asked me to make up official definitions before. Well, I love you my 'lovies' and I'm always looking forward to seeing you again.

The verdict is in!

I found out my student teaching placement...what are my thoughts? It's far! Far, far away. And I'm pretty sure it's a French Immersion school or a bilingual school. Stop laughing, all those who know me. I am quite aware that I can't speak a word of French. Qui, qui, I'm a little concerned, but I'll take it in strides. More like leaps, or would it be baby steps? Maybe the divine powers of God will transcend upon me and I'll speak in tongues? Won't that be an interesting post? Stay tuned-in to find out! I just thought of something...my students could be back-talking or calling me names and I wouldn't have a clue. It's like when you say to your pet, in a sweet, high-pitched and loving voice, "oh aren't you the ugliest little thing I have ever laid eyes on, yes you're hideous aren't you?", and their tail starts 'a wagging. Great, just great, I'm going to be mocked by little 9-year olds without even knowing it...looking on the brighter side of things, what you don't know can't hurt you...right? right? anyone? anyone? Bueller? So that's that. This blogging stuff is quite therapeutic, thanks for allowing me to say what's on my mind.

Au revoir
(That's good-bye in French, and Qui I had to look up the spelling)

"everyone's doing it"

I have now entered into the world of blogging. Feelings? I am a Conformist! Like they say: "everyone's doing it". So who am I? Just a girl. A girl becoming an elementary school teacher. In fact, today at 4:00pm I find out where my LAST student teaching practicum is going to be. Yikes! I hope it's close to home...not in another city, like last year. Here's hoping. So stress level has been a little high in the last few weeks, but it'll pass. I'm looking forward to learning a heck load of techniques from my mentor teacher. Yes, someone has to teach me to be a teacher. Okay moving on...in honor of the anniversary of my first blog posting I'd like to thank a few people who have influenced me in the way of the life of a blogger. First of all Shar, for being my blog role-model/mentor, second, Abbey for also playing a part in my becoming a blogger, although not the best of role-models since she rarely posts...maybe that'll change now that I exposed her lack of commitment (hahaha) and thirdly to all those I've forgotten to mention...ya, I'm just sick of writing and thanking, excuse: it's Friday.

I want to leave my audience with one thought. From a sermon (based on a series of sermons on the book of Romans-Bible) my dad preached on Jan.8'06: "Strive for an identity that is worthy of the title 'Christian'". This statement is powerful, reflect on it. It has become my life moto. I have asked myself, what kind of an identity IS worthy of being called Christian? What does/should it look like? I realize and acknowledge that no one will ever be Worthy BUT if you look closely, the statement says to STRIVE, not BE worthy but STRIVE to be worthy. That is what it is all about. It's all about Him! I believe that all we can do as humans is strive. God can only use what we give Him. So give Him ALL of you!

I look forward to sharing more...to those of you who are interested. By the way Jen, "everyone's doing it" and I think you should too. Until next time, 'keep fit and have fun' :)
